Big Success for Food Pantry Drive

Eliot Church Member Susan Nason organized our Fall Dr

ive for the Centre Street Food Pantry in Newton. This year, Eliot Church partnered with its sister church Union Church in Waban.

The recent drive for the food pantry resulted in a record number of donations thanks to the generosity of both Eliot Church and The Union Church in Waban members and friends. A total of 1,780 diapers, 163 cans of tuna, and 168 boxes of macaroni and cheese were delivered to the Pantry this week. Thanks to everyone who contributed and a special thanks to Amy McMahon and Nancy Zollers for linking in Union Church.

The Centre Street Food Pantry is one of the few food pantries in Newton. Unlike at other food pantries, there is no need to be a resident of Newton to benefit from its programs. During a visit, the food pantry provides households with non-perishable foods, fresh produce, sliced bread and a cold order that includes milk, eggs, dairy and frozen proteins.
