Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.” Luke 10:27
To follow this commandment is to pursue love, safety, peace and security for all who come within the reaches of our ministries. As a part of this commitment the Safe Church Policy was created to guide us in our efforts to make God’s home at Eliot a safe and welcoming place for children and adults alike.
Eliot Church has no tolerance for child abuse and neglect, sexual harassment and sexual misconduct. Eliot Church will take allegations of such behavior seriously, will promptly respond to all such allegations, and will take action to address behavior contrary to this policy and to ensure that a safe environment is restored and maintained in all church activities as well.
Our Safe Church policy includes a two-adult rule – there are always two adults present for each children’s activity. Our Sunday School teachers and youth leaders are CORI checked.
