As many of you know long-time Eliot member Ginny Schock resided for many years at Chetwynde healthcare facility in Newton. When that facility closed last year she moved to South Dennis Healthcare in South Dennis, MA which is much closer to her sister and other family members.
I had the pleasure of visiting Ginny last week. She looked great, has a wonderful roommate, and is very happy at this new facility. Her roommate told me that Ginny often talks about “her church” and has all the cards that Eliot folks have sent her posted on her bulletin board. She still reads the Bible regularly, attends both the weekly Catholic and Protestant worship services, and participates in the many facility activities. I delivered the notes that folks wrote to Ginny and she was so touched that folks took the time to write to her. She asked me to tell everyone how much she appreciates the fact that even though she no longer lives in Newton, she has not been forgotten by Eliot folks.
